Description
Sekhmet or Sakhmet is the Kemetic Goddess of war, fire, and dance. She is also called the Eye of Ra as she was associated with the Sun God as his protector and enforcer. Sekhmet has a red background stitched in the shape of flames. The section around her face is accentuated with red and gold glass beads.
Above her head is a sun disk with red, gold, yellow, and copper metallic threads embroidered around a small mirror. Her hair and mane are appliqued with brown multi-toned fabric and beaded with glass. Her inner mane has a suede texture and is embroidered horizontally and vertically with gold thread. She wears an appliqued golden crown with two green embroidered snakes intertwined. Her face is composed of multi-colored appliques of tan, brown, and ivory. Her eyes and eyebrows are embroidered with deep brown embroidery thread. Her whiskers are embroidered with gold threads.
